Baldwin Electric Locomotive
Inscription on the plaque near the door on the locomotive:
"This locomotive was the first 3'6" gauge electric locomotive to operate in Queensland. It was purchased in 1926 for use at the Bulimba Powerhouse, where it transferred trains of 4-wheel loaded coal hopper wagons from the sidings at Murrarie to the powerhouse. It had a limit of 11 loaded wagons on the stepply graded spur line. Fed from an overhead 500 volt DC catenary, electricity was supplied by the powerhouse itself."
Behind the Baldwin, you can see part of the front end of RM1815, the 1800-series diesel railcar I had misidentified as one of Queensland Rail's 2000-series Silver Bullets.
Thanks to Jim Dean for the positive identification.
